7-Day Soul Fast
September 27 – October 3, 2026
I feel the Lord leading me into a focused time of prayer, fasting, and consecration as we enter the final quarter of 2026, and I want to invite you to join me.
For seven days, we are going to intentionally turn down the noise, clear some of the clutter from our souls, and make room to hear God more clearly. I’m calling it: POSITIONED FOR BREAKTHROUGH. Because I believe this: You don’t position yourself for breakthrough by chasing breakthrough. You position yourself by becoming rooted in Christ.
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith…” – Colossians 2:6–7
WHY A SOUL FAST?
Our lives are loud. Social media. Scrolling. Television. News. Entertainment. Notifications. Opinions. Conversations. Responsibilities. Worry. Comparison. Constant stimulation. And none of those things necessarily have to be sinful to become weights. Sometimes our souls become so crowded with noise that we struggle to recognize what God is saying. This fast is about creating space.
For seven days, we are intentionally stepping away from some of the things that constantly consume our attention and replacing them with Scripture, prayer, worship, journaling, listening, and time in the presence of God.
Romans 12:1–2 will serve as one of our anchor passages: “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God… And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
That is what we are pursuing. Surrender. Renewal. Realignment. Repositioning. We are not trying to reposition God. We are allowing God to reposition us.
WHAT WILL WE FAST?
This is not primarily a food fast. Ask the Holy Spirit what has become too loud, too consuming, or too distracting in your life.
For you, that might include: Social media and scrolling, Television and streaming, Movies or entertainment, News and political media, Podcasts or YouTube, Video games, Nonessential books or audiobooks, Unnecessary phone use, Online shopping, Certain conversations or group chats, Gossip or complaining, Constant background noise, Anything else God identifies as clutter.
The goal is not simply to remove something. The goal is to replace it. Less scrolling. More Scripture. Less entertainment. More prayer. Less noise. More listening. Less distraction. More devotion.
WE’RE WALKING THROUGH COLOSSIANS
Each day of the fast will take us through a portion of the book of Colossians:
DAY 1: SEE CHRIST
Christ is enough.
DAY 2: BE ROOTED
I don’t need a new foundation. I need deeper roots.
DAY 3: SET YOUR MIND
Where my mind goes matters.
DAY 4: PUT IT TO DEATH
Some things don’t need to be managed. They need to die.
DAY 5: PUT ON CHRIST
God isn’t just removing something from me. He’s producing something in me.
DAY 6: WALK IT OUT
Transformation should be visible.
DAY 7: WATCH & PRAY
Stay positioned.
YOUR FREE 7-DAY GUIDE
I created the Positioned for Breakthrough Guide to help us walk through these seven days together.
Inside you’ll find: Scripture readings through Colossians, biblical teaching, prayer prompts, journaling questions, practical fasting challenges, supporting Scriptures, and the Positioned for Breakthrough Declaration to pray throughout the week.
Save it to your phone, print it, write in it, and bring it with you into your time with God each day. And before September 27, begin asking the Lord: What needs to become quiet so I can hear You more clearly? What needs to be laid down? What needs to be released? What needs to be forgiven? What needs to die? What needs to come back into alignment? What have You already told me to obey?
I believe God is going to meet us during these seven days. But above every breakthrough we may experience in our circumstances, this is my prayer:
Christ will have more of us. We will enter these seven days hungry. We will come out more rooted. More attentive. More surrendered. More obedient. More ready.
September 27 – October 3, 2026
Less noise. More of Him.
